George Soros and the financial crisis

Who should we turn to at a time of economic turmoil? George Soros has made his billions waiting for such discontinuities. Here's his latest comments from an interview with Huffington Post. George wrote a book about this crisis which explains in detail what is happening and where it will lead us. Soros came out of retirement as 1990's greatest trader two years ago, when he sniffed a massive trading opportunity, fired his CEO and got back into business.

If you would like to know what advice he has, visit his site here as he's giving away a free pdf from his book "The Credit Crisis of 2008 and What it Means" when you join his mailing list - The book brilliantly goes into detail as to why the financial crisis has unfolded the way it has. He's a master of timing, so it won't surprise you to learn he published the book five months ago..

Turning Hollywood to Bollywood

What to do when flow has flowed? I've written in Your Life, Your Legacy about how David Geffen's dealmaker flair attracted $3 billion in financing to Dreamworks when he started it with Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Since then, Hollywood has been eclipsed by Bollywood. With the current finance crisis, a good dealmaker follows the money. So naturally when Geffen closed the $1.5 billion deal for a new production house for Spielberg today, it was with Reliance - a big producer of Bollywood movies and owned by Anil Ambani (the 6th richest man in the world according to Forbes).

While Hollywood falls into the winter season, Bollywood is in a blazing summer, with over 1,000 films made in the last 12 months. We'll be seeing more of these kinds of deals - and another famous deal maker has already joined Geffen in looking East. Rupert Murdoch has just announced the launch of Fox Star Studios in India to remake Hollywood films for India.

In every industry, wherever it is winter, it is summer somewhere else. All great wealth creators know that a global outlook does not just expand your vision, it preserves your wealth. Where in the world should you be today?
